HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese Grandmaster Lê Quang Liêm ranked second at the ongoing St. Louis Rapid Blitz tournament in the United States on Tuesday.

On the second day of competition, Liêm, world No  二 三, beat world No  五 Levon Aronian of Armenia. However, he lost to world No  二 四 Leinier Dominguez of Cuba and tied with Ian Nepomniachtchi of Russia, world No  一 五.

Nepomniachtchi leads the  一0 players with four points, followed by Liêm, who was the  二0 一 三 world blitz chess champion and runner-up at the World Open  二0 一 七 chess tournament.

The tournament’s total prize fund is US$ 一 五0,000.
